Today Newcastle Blue Star Football Club received the following statement from the Northumberland Football Leagues Ltd. This is in relation to the recent COVID-19 outbreak. Please note all footballing activities at Newcastle Blue Star Football Club have been postponed until further notice, this includes all training and our development sessions. Full statement below:
Following the announcement from the government yesterday and subsequent statements issued from both the national FA and Northumberland FA, the league management committee can confirm that all games scheduled to be played in March 2020 have been suspended. This includes all league and league cup games.
The league management committee will meet again on Monday 30th March 2020 and issue an update for April fixtures based on the current advise at that time from the government, public health England, our sanctioning authorities and partners.
The league management committee would like to stress that all cup finals will be played at a time and date when it is considered safe and the government advise allows us to play these. The league management committee will issue an update on all league fixtures after 30th March.
I can confirm that all league presentations have been cancelled and alternative arrangements will be communicated out in due course.
We are working closely with our county FA and government authorities and all decisions taken are done so in the best interests of all our members.
