Newcastle Blue Star vs Horden CW (13/10/2026)

Following a difficult evening at Birtley on Friday, Newcastle Blue Star return to the KD Stadium tonight with an opportunity to respond as they welcome Horden to Scotswood for another Northern League Division One encounter.

Friday's trip to Birtley ended in a disappointing 4-0 defeat for Blue Star, a result which leaves the Scotswood outfit now sitting 14th in the table as they look to get their league campaign back on track.

With there being no respite in such a busy league schedule, there is little time to dwell on that setback. However, with another fixture arriving quickly and the chance to put things right in front of the home support.

Horden arrive in Scotswood sitting ninth in the division, having enjoyed a positive run of form in recent weeks. The visitors have won their last two league fixtures, recording successive 2-0 victories over Penrith and Carlisle City.

Those results will give Horden confidence heading into tonight's contest, particularly after keeping clean sheets in both matches. Blue Star will need to be alert to the threat posed by the visitors while looking to find a way through a defence that has proved difficult to breach.

For the hosts, the focus will be on producing a positive response and making home advantage count. With points to play for and plenty of the season still ahead, a strong performance could provide an important platform to build on in the coming weeks.

With both sides having clear objectives, tonight's encounter offers Blue Star the chance to move forward from Friday's result, while Horden look to make it three league wins in a row and make further inroads on the playoff places above.

Something that sets up this clash nicely. A warm welcome goes out to the visiting Horden team and support and for those who lend their voice to the home team, make sure to bring the noise throughout.
