Penrith AFC vs Newcastle Blue Star (10/02/2026)

If the weather was playing for points, it would be top of the league by some distance. Another lengthy period of inactivity for Newcastle Blue Star to deal with. The same issue for their Northern League counterparts.
Everyone in the same boat as the fixtures will now create a busy backlog over the next month or so, thankfully an Ark has been built in time for tonight's visit to Penrith.
A visit that ends a three week wait for manager Paul Brayson and his players. Blue Star building up a head of steam before the recent downpours, now its time to get back to the coalface.
That steam was built after an impressive home win over Boro Rangers by a single goal. Three points at the KD Stadium subsequently added to a single point at North Shields just a few days later.
A hard fought point that could have been three had Blue Star's penalty woes not carried over for a second successive game. Then again, a resolute back line was needed to keep North Shields at bay.
A draw the fair result that night, to be fair the season still has live left in. There is work to be done to make up ground on the top five but there are plenty of games and more importantly, games in hand to make inroads up the league ladder.
Tonight's hosts Penrith sit one place above Blue Star before tonight's clash. They also have games in hand. They will also be keen to move further up the table.
Something which sets up tonight’s clash rather nicely indeed. A big thanks to Penrith for the upcoming hospitality and for those attending from an away perspective, safe travels both there and back.
