Summer signing #4 as Evans signs on the line at Scotswood.

Newcastle Blue Star are thrilled to announce the signing of Andy Evans, the talented young defender joining the NE15 outfit following his summer departure from Blyth Spartans.

Evans, who has impressed physically and technically in the pre-season sessions that have already taken place at the KD Stadium becomes Paul Brayson’s fourth addition of ahead of the 26/27 campaign.

The young defender who learnt his trade at Sunderland AFC’s Academy of Light, before gaining playing experience for Morecambe, Darlington, Blyth Spartans and Newcastle Benfield will be a welcome boost to our squads’ defensive options.

Welcoming the new addition, First Team Manager Paul Brayson, said: “Andy is a top young player – a very physical and athletic defender, but with an equally as impressive technical side to his game too.

“Our defensive line up went through plenty of changes with injuries, availability and trying to get the ideal balance last season, and Andy will definitely bring strength and options to that department.”
