“Another good performance and deserved result for the boys. It was tough, but we did the job required.”

After scoring an athletic opener and making the most of his early introduction as a substitute, Regan Patterson shared his thoughts on today’s three points.

Ben – “Regan, a big 3pts today in challenging conditions, what were your thoughts on the game?”

Regan – “Yeah, I thought the boys put in a real shift against a good side on a poor pitch. They made us work hard for it, but we showed our quality and deserved the points in the end.  The weather made it challenging, but we grafted till the end.”

Ben – “An impressive goal for you following your early introduction, what did the gaffer say when you were introduced?”

Regan – “Haha, yeah it’s been a while since scoring my first, so I was pleased to get on the scoresheet again. The gaffer just told me to get out wide, get in the right positions, and make those attacking runs. That’s what I like to do, so it played to my strengths and I managed to get the opening goal which was important for us.”

Ben – “It’s been a busy week for the lads, playing Ryton twice & top of the table Blyth Town, how are the lads feeling after the 3 games?”

Regan – “The lads are feeling good – we were obviously disappointed with the first Ryton performance and result, but the last two games have been much better and it’s a strong 4 points from those two games.”

Ben – “We’ve got 6 league games remaining…and then hopefully a couple play off fixtures…what’s the mood in the dressing room like ahead of the run in?”

Regan – “Positive. The lads know what they need to do, and we are focused on that. We are just taking it fixture by fixture, and concentrating on getting the job done. It’ll be good to have a few days to prepare this week before another really tough game against Blyth Town on Saturday.”

Ben – “And I have to ask, our 2nd goal, is Shaun Ryder claiming it?”

Regan – “Haha, I think it’s just gone in the box, Shaun has thrown himself at it, and it’s gone in off someone…..but he’s certainly claiming it!”
