Further Signings At Blue Star


Newcastle Blue Star FC are delighted to announce the signings of Dan Waldon, David Luke, Curtis Coppen, Marc Lancaster and Sean McCafferty.


Dan, a centre forward is 17 years of age and is currently at South Shields academy. Last season He played for New Hartley Juniors and Blyth Town.


Davey, a local lad joins us from Heaton Stannington where he has just won promotion to the First Division. He is midfielder who has also played for Ashington and Consett AFC.


Curtis, a centre half played for North Shields winning the FA Vase and SeniorCcup at his time at the club. He then went on to play for Morpeth Town before moving to Ashington where he finished last season.


Marc, a left back played a couple of games for Blue Star at the end of last season and was part of the same North Shields team as Curtis Coppen. Marcs previous clubs include Hibernian, Blyth Spartans, Morpeth Town and Ashington.


Sean also known as Sheep; Is well known to all Blue Star supporters having spent the last two seasons with the club. His previous clubs include Ashington, Whitley Bay and North Shields.


Manager Brian Smith said “Bringing the five lads into the club alongside the four that were announced last week gives us a great balance of experience and youth within the squad which was always our aim when we took over. We are delighted with the signings that we have made alongside retaining the majority of the squad that finished last season”.
