Jack Ledger signs for The Star. ⭐

Newcastle Blue Star are delighted to confirm the signing of talented defender Jack Ledger from Northern Premier League side Consett AFC.

Ledger, aged 20, is a left footed defender who can also push on to midfield when required, and will help bring balance to the Blue Star back line.

Despite his young age, Ledger has plenty experience at Northern League level and above, having made his debut for Chester-le-Street United aged just 16 years old.

The exciting and talented left-back has also played at Ryton & Crawcrook Albion, before signing for Consett ahead of the current 25/26 season.

Commenting on his move to NE15, Jack said: "As soon as I’d heard there was interest from Blue Star I wanted to be involved straight away, they’re a massive club only going in one direction and I hope I can do everything possible to help get the club where they ultimately want to be.

"My playing style is that of a modern day full back who likes to ultimately defend first, but also get forward and be involved in attacking plays."

Welcoming Jack to Scotswood, First Team Manager Paul Brayson said: "We are thrilled to have Jack on board for what is going to be a busy and testing run in to the end of the season.

"Jack is a natural left-footer so will bring much needed balance to the defence, and has all the attributes needed at this level; intensity, strong work rate, and confidence on the ball.
