Newcastle Blue Star are thrilled to welcome talented goalkeeper Will Anderson to the club, joining on an initial short-term loan from South Shields FC.
The 18 year old shot stopper started his career at Killingworth, before enjoying a 5 year spell at Newcastle United, and is currently with the Mariners in the National League North after impressing during pre-season.
Anderson, who joins straight up with the lads ahead of tomorrows league fixture vs Shildon, said: “I’m really looking forward to getting some minutes under my belt in men’s football and hopefully I can do my bit to help Blue Star get further up the league.”
Welcoming the latest addition, First Team Manager Paul Brayson said, “Will is a very good goalkeeper who I’ve seen play a lot for Newcastle Under 18s alongside my own son.
“This move will benefit both Will and ourselves - he’ll gain valuable experience and senior game time, whilst adding talent and skill to our goalkeeping options.
“A big thank to South Shields for their trust and confidence in us to provide such opportunities to young and upcoming talent.”
Our thanks to South Shields FC for their assistance in making this move possible. 🤝
Welcome to NE15, Will. 👋
