Newcastle Blue Star secured a massive 3 points at home with a dominant 4-1 win over Kendal Town FC, keeping their play-off hopes firmly alive.
The breakthrough arrived in the 15th min as captain Sean Reid rose superbly to meet a pin point cross from Collins, guiding his header across goal to make it 1-0.
The home side doubled their lead in the 30th min, with the same combination, as Collins, with a moment of quality found skipper Sean Reid again from his cross who calmly guided the ball home to make it 2-0.
Kendal Town managed to respond just before the break as skipper Bailey Kenny finished off a late attacking move, pulling the visitors right back in the game.
The Star came out strong in the second half and almost scored within a minute but Collins' saw his effort saved by Kendal keeper Chris Cheetham.
The home side restored their two goal cushion on the hour mark in spectacular fashion as Dan Stephenson scored from 25 yards out into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.
Captain Sean Reid came agonisingly close to completing his hat-trick in the 76th min but his effort at an open goal following a misplaced pass from the Kendal Town Keeper drifted narrowly wide.
Newcastle Blue Star completed the rout in stoppage time with Dan Stephenson grabbing his second of the game, tapping home from close range to seal an emphatic 4-1 on the night.
