Newcastle Blue Star vs Northallerton Town (22/08/2026)

The second of two home league games in a week for Newcastle Blue Star and after Tuesday’s outing against Crook Town, manager Paul Brayson will hope that his players can deliver more of the same in terms of performance.

Especially as those terms led to a first win of the campaign at the KD Stadium and with both Cameron Brewis and Jakub Zych scoring fantastic strikes from long distance, it was then a short wait until all three points were confirmed.

Admittedly there was a period of nervousness right at the death when Crook Town managed to find a goal to half the deficit and although they would have been keen to use that as a springboard to parity, it eventually resembled nothing more than a consolation.

While the 2-1 win for Blue Star was the perfect consolation after Saturday’s defeat at Shildon and with a back to basics approach being the best way forward on Tuesday, Blue Star will now look to move further forward regarding their current league position.

A position that sees the Scotswood outfit sit 12th in the table before the weekend’s activities and those involved with the club know that it only takes another three points on Saturday to swallow up a handful of teams above.

Standing in their way of further progress are a Northallerton side who are looking for further improvement themselves and with them currently sitting second bottom of the table, they only way is up for a side that has picked up just four points from its first six matches.

Like Blue Star, they also took to the field on Tuesday but had to do make do with a 5-0 defeat at Shildon. A bruising result but one that they will be keen to put behind them and therefore, they cannot be underestimated either.
