A noticeable absentee over the recent months, our midfield maestro & first team skipper finally returned to the match day squad over the last couple games, so we caught up with Connor to hear about the injury, his time on the sidelines & more.....
"Connor, 9 weeks later, fantastic to see you back out on the pitch. How is the knee, and what was the injury that sidelined you?"
It’s great to be back amongst it and I am feeling good! So the consultant suggested I had a small tear above my knee which required an injection. Following on from that I have being continuing my rehab with Max to build my legs back up to be able to get back training.
"The treatment bed was a busy place during the time you were out of action, but it looks like we are starting to get back to a full squad to pick from recently?"
Yes absolutely. I think everyone being fit always raises levels in any team but
the lads have been superb.
"Despite being unable to play, you've been ever present at the games, how would you summarise the last couple of months for the lads?"
I think the lads have been excellent. Not only performances but the resilience shown for such a young side has been brilliant.
"How frustrating is it as a player to be watching from the bench/stands, knowing you can't influence what is happening on the pitch?"
I think any player will agree that being injured is the worst part of football, no matter what level you play at. It has been incredibly frustrating but it’s been eased by the way the lads have performed over the last couple of months. Coming back to training with a positive group is always a bonus!
