Newcastle Blue Star are delighted to announce the signing of Craig Scott, the vastly experienced defender joining the Star and becoming Paul Braysons fourth addition to NE15.
Formerly club captain at Dunston UTS, Scotty enjoyed 5 seasons at the UTS Stadium, including a Nothern League title winning season back in 2019, before turning out for Heaton Stannington in their playoff promotion season too. Craig transfers to us from Ryton FC where he has been after missing a season through injury. We thank Ryton for their assistance in making this transfer possible.
Commenting on his latest signing, First Team Manager Paul Brayson, said: "We are delighted to finally get this one over the line and have Scotty on board.
"A very experienced defender who has played at higher levels, Craig will not only bring his footballing ability to the side, but he's also a great organiser & leader, something the young defenders can learn a lot from.
"I'm sure all the fans will quickly have Scotty down as a favourite, a brilliant character that will be important both in the dressing room and on the pitch."
New signing Craig Scott added: "Being a local lad I know exactly what Blue Star is about, the clubs wider ambitions, and also what the expectations are as a player.
"I’ve worked with Brassy before (as well as playing against him a few times too!) and he’s been clear on what he wants me to bring to the team and the wider club.
"I’m really looking forward to joining up with the lads and getting started on Saturday."
Craig joins up with the lads immediately ahead of this Saturdays fixture away to Thornaby.
Welcome to NE15, Craig.
