"The game was one we dominated, I felt." - Marc Nash

Following our Easter Monday victory at Kingsley Park, we caught up with First Team Manager Marc Nash to get his reflection on the 3pts.

Ben - "Marc, another tough battle but deserved 3pts today, how'd you reflect on the game?"

Marc - "The game was one we dominated, I felt. It was a really solid display despite the many changes. Ryton didn't play Saturday, so I was concerned they might be fresher, but we showed tremendous character and spirit. A couple of big setbacks with a penalty miss and a sloppy giveaway for their goal when we should just manage the game near half time but we showed a good mentality to kick on 2nd half."

Ben - "A promising start to Rio Joisce's debut, but forced into an early substitution, any update on how he is?"

Marc - "Rio made a real positive start and showed glimpses of his style before rolling his ankle. Hopefully, it's just a short-term problem."

Ben - "His replacement Regan Patterson certainly took his chance with a goal and a lively display, how pleased were you with his performance?"

Marc - "I was delighted for Regan. He has shown a return to form lately, and I thought his goal was typical of him at his best. He has stayed patient, and I'm sure he will play a prominent role in the run-in because he has the quality."

Ben - "3 games, including a defeat, a draw and a win in the past week, how'd you summarise the last 7 days?"

Marc - "The 3 game run has shown massive improvement in terms of effort, performance, and results. We've tweaked things tactically, and hopefully, now we've found a formula that is getting results. The players have shown the required levels of intensity lately, and they know where the bar has been set."

Ben - "Another massive game this Saturday as we travel to Blyth Town, how will you be ensuring we take the momentum from today into that game?"

Marc - "The Blyth game again gives us a chance to check our progress. These are the games you want to play in, and with the things moving in the right direction, the players are hungry to go there and take the game to them again."
